Visionary
Anurag Kushwaha
Group Chairman
Every city evolves through moments of vision—when someone sees not just what exists, but what it can become. For Purvanchal, that vision found direction through Ar. Anurag Kushwaha.
After completing his studies in the mid-1990s, he returned to Varanasi with a clear sense of purpose. Having witnessed the pace and potential of urban development in Maharashtra, he recognised that his hometown was on the cusp of transformation. What it needed was not just construction—but direction.
At a time when organised residential formats were limited, he introduced new ways of living—pioneering duplex housing concepts and gradually shaping the city’s transition towards mid and high-rise developments. These were not just projects, but early steps towards redefining how urban spaces could be experienced.
As the city grew, so did the vision. By 2010, this journey expanded across multiple sectors, transforming Sanrachna into a multidimensional organisation—built on the principles of clarity in design, discipline in execution, and long-term value creation.
Today, his work spans residential, commercial, hospitality, and institutional developments—collectively delivering over 4 million sq. ft. of built-up area, reflecting scale, consistency, and execution excellence. Each project reflects a belief that spaces are not merely constructed—they are experienced, lived in, and remembered.
At the core of his philosophy lies a deep commitment to balance and sustainability. His developments integrate energy efficiency, water conservation, eco-conscious planning, and disaster resilience—guided by the timeless principles of Vastu Shastra to create environments that foster well-being and continuity.
Among his landmark contributions stands the 80-foot Abhaya Mudra statue of Lord Buddha at Thai Bodh Vihar, Sarnath—an enduring symbol of peace, scale, and cultural significance.
Beyond development, his leadership has shaped the professional landscape as well. Serving three consecutive terms as President of the Architects Association of Varanasi, he has contributed to advancing standards, collaboration, and innovation within the industry.
His work has been recognised by esteemed institutions, including an honour from the Chief Justice of the High Court for his contribution to the beautification of the Civil Court premises in Varanasi.
Guided by vision, strengthened by discipline, and rooted in purpose, Ar. Anurag Kushwaha continues to shape environments that are not just built—but enduring.
“True progress is not measured by what we build—but by what we leave behind.”
